To reduce claims and improve workplace safety for its commercial policyholders Unigard Insurance Group is teaming with SMS Software Solutions to provide additional online loss control and safety resources. The resources are available to policyholders through the Unigard Web site (www.unigard.com).
“We’re pleased to be able to offer our customers these additional technical resources,” said Bill Mitzel, Unigard commercial risk control specialist. “They’ll enhance our resource library and serve as valuable educational tools for our agents and commercial policyholders.”
Mitzel notes these resources are especially useful to small businesses that might not otherwise have the time or personnel to develop these educational tools on their own. More than 1,000 reference documents are now available, including:
- Key interview questions to ask when hiring manufacturing and construction employees.
- PowerPoint training programs about how to safely operate 15-passenger vans and investigate accidents, available in both Spanish and English.
- Bilingual posters outlining the components of a comprehensive safety program.
- Human resources policies addressing dress code and solicitation and distribution.
Available materials include bilingual PowerPoint presentations, posters, links to other online resources, sample policies and procedures and other documents. They focus on protecting employees, customers and property. Many also address workers' compensation exposures, a coverage not offered by Unigard.
