Twelve high school seniors can earn $1,000 scholarships through a scholarship program sponsored by Unigard Insurance Companies. The scholarships will be awarded to seniors residing in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington. In addition, they’ll be awarded to dependents of Unigard employees and dependents of staff employed at the company’s Premier Partner agencies.
The Unigard Scholarship Program began in 2004 and aims to financially assist academically talented seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school. Awards are renewable up to three years or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale). Awards are for undergraduate study only.
The first 300 applications received between Nov. 1, 2004, and Feb. 15, 2005, will be eligible. These entrants will be notified of their status by the end of April 2005. Students can apply by downloading an application from the Unigard Web site at unigard.com. For additional information, please contact Scholarship America at (507) 931-1682 and refer to the Unigard Scholarship program or visit scholarshipamerica.org.
